Sample prompt · generate an image directly
The technique comes first, followed by the subject, scene, details and aspect ratio. Paste it straight into an image model and swap in your own subject.
A single hard light raking in, the subject casting sharp-edged geometric shadows on the wall. In front of a white Mediterranean wall at noon, a monstera plant throws a big cut-out leaf shadow on the wall, and a person in a linen shirt leans against it, the striped shadows falling across him. 4:5, sharp shadow edges, no multiple shadows.
04
Common pitfalls
- The shadow goes soft and loses all its sharpness.
- The shadow falls outside the frame and is wasted.

Parameter tips
The smaller the source, the sharper the shadow; work out where the shadow falls before placing the subject.
