When to use it
Back-and-forth dialogue, smoother scene changes, making the edit invisible.
02
Prompt template
(editing approach) J-cut: while the picture still holds on an empty corridor, bring in the next scene's school bell and the teacher's voice first, then cut the picture to the classroom one second later.

Sample prompt · generate a video directly
The technique comes first, followed by the scene, action, performance and duration. Paste it straight into a video model and swap in your own characters and plot.
Shot one: an empty school corridor after class, the setting sun slanting in through the windows, locked-off camera, 4 seconds. Shot two: the classroom at the same moment, the homeroom teacher at the front announcing, “Next week's graduation trip is canceled.” The whole class groans, 5 seconds. In the edit, bring the voice from shot two in 1 second early, over the corridor (a J-cut).
04
Common pitfalls
- Audio brought in too early makes the audience think it's out of sync.
- Doing it on every cut feels contrived.

Parameter tips
In the editing software, cut the audio track 0.5 to 1.5 s before or after the picture.
