The technique comes first, followed by the scene, action, performance and duration. Paste it straight into a video model and swap in your own characters and plot.

Rule-of-thirds composition: the woman's eyes on the upper third line, her body on the right vertical line, more space on the left where she's facing, the horizon on the lower third. On a seaside cliff, a woman in a trench coat looks out over the sea to the left as the wind lifts her scarf. She says softly, “It's right over there.” 5 seconds, locked-off camera; her position must not drift to the center.
04

Common pitfalls

  • The space is left behind them, so they look about to walk into a wall.
  • Mixing center and thirds leaves the frame with no anchor.
05

Parameter tips

More space in front of them than behind.
